What's Trending: The love for bacon lingers on...and on

To those who say it's time for the bacon-in-everything frenzy to go wee wee wee all the way home, don't count out your old pal, piggy. The people have spoken, and bacon is more popular than ever.

Bacon made headlines when a British café cooked up the world's most expensive bacon sandwich. It’s $235 spectacle with rare breed bacon, black truffles, gold dust and saffron.

Some fancy foodies think the bacon thing,  you know, bacon sundae or even vodka is SO five minutes ago. Wrong.

Bacon is actually one of the oldest meats in history. The Chinese began salting pork bellies as early as 1500 B.C. And now - just when you think it might go the way of cakepops or Gangnam style, it's holding strong.

If a bacon chocolate bar doesn't curl your tail, let's take a moment to appreciate a bacon lollipop.

You can also experience it without the fat.  Bacon-lovers, buy bacon lip balm, bacon toothpaste, organic bacon-scented cat litter and ironic t-shirts, which you can wear over your bacon brassiere.

Want to go out in style? You can even rest in peace with a bacon-scented coffin. Yes, this does exist, it's just a shame to bury it.

Bacon…it’s still what's trending.
