All it takes is $20 to get the best deals in Vegas. It’s basically a way to bride your way up to a better room at most Vegas hotels.
Here’s how:
1. First, pick a hotel you want to stay in, like Caesar's Palace. Book the cheapest room online, and then head to the check-in counter.
2. While you're checking in, make a little "sandwich" that consists of your ID, your credit card and a $20 bill slipped in the middle.
3. Now practice your poker face, and when you hand the sandwich to the clerk, say, "I was wondering if any complimentary upgrades are available."
This is one of the rare instances in Vegas where the odds are in your favor. Believe it or not, this work most of the time.
Hopefully, the clerk takes the $20 and, a few minutes later, you've been assigned a room with a view of the strip or maybe even a suite that may have cost you hundreds more had you originally booked the room.
There is even a website for this trick. Visit it at www.thetwentydollartrick.com and you can see they track success reports from certain hotels. This way before you go, you can read how it worked for others.
Keep in mind, there's a chance you won't get anything for your $20.
