The Futurist: Computer keyboards that take typing to a new level of technology
High tech manipulation is the future of computerization on the November 29 edition of The Futurist,
BYE-BYE KEYBOARD: Sure it's the digital age, but it's time to say good-bye to touch-typing. Get ready to jump into the future with The Leap and its mind-bending new way to interact with your computer.
How we control our computers has basically stayed the same for years, except for slight tweaks to the normal keyboard or mouse. But this about to change. With this new device, you just lift a finger and you've got three dimensions of control with a device more accurate, more reliable and more sensitive than a touch screen or mouse.
WASHABLE KEYBOARD: Clean up big with The K-310, Logitech's Washable Keyboard. It’s great news for typists who are all thumbs or people who are good at working through lunch, and bad with napkins. This keyboard is washable and waterproof.
VIRTUAL KEYBOARD: Finally there is a new virtual keyboard from CTX. A laser projects an outline of a full-sized QWERTY keyboard on any flat surface and its optical sensor tracks your finger movements. It's about the size of a Zippo lighter so it's compact enough to fit on a keychain.
