Raising poinsettias to raise money for a good cause

December is the busiest time for the non-profit group, A New Leaf. That's because they're selling leaves in the form of holiday poinsettias.

A New Leaf is an organization in Broken Arrow, Okla., that helps the developmentally disabled people in the Tulsa metro. They provide paid work for them in the hopes of garnering enough skills for them to find a job in the workforce on their own.

The holiday poinsettia fundraiser is a win-win for clients. Not only do they get paid to take care of the plants in the greenhouses, but they are also learning job skills.

A New Leaf is hoping to sell around five-thousand poinsettias this season. It's all to help plant and nurture their crops, and their minds, year-round.
