Mountain men living on the flat land
TULSA, OK - The days of Daniel Boone and Davey Crocket are long gone but almost every weekend somewhere in the country a mountain man rendezvous is held.
A coonskin cap and buckskin is the appropriate attire at a mountain man rendezvous.
These events are held all over the country and almost every week of the year. The people that make up the gatherings all have a common bond -- they love the simpler time in life.
No electricity, no running water, they spend their weekends living in tee pees, lean-tos and canvas houses. They cook over an open fire and chat up the day with talk of flint rifles and black powder.
The rendezvous is a bit of a traveling series with people living like the fur traders of the 1800's.
