Hot men's fashion trend: Wooden bow ties
Made in Tulsa... and no man should be without it t
TULSA - Tim Paslay's machine shop doesn't seem like a typical place to make bow ties --unless the bow ties are made of wood.
"We bring modern style to old school craftsmanship," said Paslay.
He and his business partner started Two Guys Bow Ties in November of 2012. The business had 700 orders by Christmas.
Between the successful launch and an almost immediate feature in Esquire, it sounds like Two Guys Bow Ties just might be the next big thing. Knock on wood.
Paslay says he was in the shop messing around and when he came up with the idea. The secret is getting a thin piece of handcrafted wood that is light and wearable.
The bow ties can be made with nine different types of wood. Some feature the original grain of the wood, while others are laser embossed to mimic a bow tie fabric in a plaid or chevron design.
They can also create custom designs for grooms, wedding parties and other special events.
Be on the lookout later this year for matching wooden cufflinks.
