TULSA, OK - Picking out the perfect automobile can be difficult. There are so many options and styles, but back in 1955 it was much easier. You had the car, the truck and the El Camino.

The El Camino, which is Spanish for "the road,"  was born in 1958.  The vehicle is the mullet of automobiles, car up front truck in the back. Chevrolet produced five generations of the car/truck ending in 1987.

Despite being out of production for more than 25 years, the El Camino is still very popular.  Tulsa has a Chevelle and El Camino Owners Association. They are all about promoting interest in the old cars.
