ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The temperature around Tampa are in the 70s and it's perfect bike riding weather.  There are plenty of places to walk, jog or ride a bike in Tampa Bay.

Here’s a list of our favorites:

- Trails on Caladesi Island State Park

- The Arrowhead Nature Trail in Fort De Soto Park

- Trails of the Hillsborough River State Park

We have an idea for you if you want to get the most out of your bike riding experience.  The Bionx bike system can help you travel faster and longer.

“It is a system that can retrofit any bike and it makes it proportional assist," said Manager Nancy Frainetti. "You start to peddle and it assists you on four different power levels.”

Bionx is a battery powered machine.  It basically acts like your partner in peddling.

“I used to be able to do ten miles now I can do 20 to 25 or 30 miles, because I have that help to assist me,” said Frainetti.

The Bionx system is already popular in Europe, but Frainetti said the product is gaining speed in the U.S.

“There was a 23 percent increase in bike sales in the last two years,” said Frainetti.

The Bionx system is priced at $1,200 for the beginning model, but the company will be allowing people to rent the system for a day in St. Petersburg starting in March.
