Pinning down political election history
RODGERS FORGE - The 2012 election is Tuesday. Still there's nothing better than looking back at the past. Allan Dorsey is one of Maryland's foremost collectors when it comes to politics.
“My first political button was a JFK tie clip that my father brought home from the steelworkers’ hall where he worked,” said Dorsey. “That got the hook in me.”
Allan's been collecting political memorabilia since he was 10 years old. He gathered more than 500 pieces including some Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt campaign pins.
“A lot of the kids around that time where collecting baseball cards. I would say to them, you’re going to get a whole lot more money out of political buttons because that’s a way more important than a person’s RBI’s."
