PHOENIX - How about a ride in a Cessna Caravan? Desert Splash Adventures in Scottsdale is offering $99 holiday light tours from the sky.
The nine-passenger plane will carry you from the East Valley to the West Valley for a birds eye view of the best light displays and the big landmarks around town.
You can also book flights on other tours the company of Alaskan bush pilots offer.
If flying isn't your thing, how about a double decker bus? Just like the ones driving through London, the Real London Bus Company offers holiday sightseeing onboard their massive red double deckers. The company, founded by two British gents, also offers other tours throughout the year.
Finally, we offer one more way to see the sights in the cool December air. Ollie The Trolley is a staple in Old Town Scottsdale. On this trip, you can see the lights while learning about the history of Scottsdale.
You may want to take advantage of the Chamber of Commerce weather and get your visitors out of the house to see some of the unique places that call the Valley home. Doug MacKenzie, Greater Phoenix Convention & Visitors Bureau says there are 3 places you can take your guests where they will get a true Phoenix experience.
1. Heard Museum
-- Full of Native American artifacts this museum tops the list. MacKenzie likes the Kachina doll collection and he adds the gift shop makes it a great destination for visitors to purchase gifts to take home with them.
2. Musical Instrument Museum
-- One of only two in the world, this is a must see for anyone visiting the Valley. The museum houses instruments from more than 200 countries and territories. MacKenzie says you can also get hands on with the instruments in the interactive room. The museum also plays host to live performances, and has a cafe serving local foods.
3. The Ice Rink at Cityscape
-- How many times are you going to be able to tell someone you ice skated in the middle of the dessert. After this trip to downtown Phoenix you can check this one off your list. The rink is located at CityScape and is open through January 5, 2013.
