What's Trending: The Maccabeats 'Shine' and other Hanukkah-inspired songs
It’s the fourth night of the Jewish holiday Hanukkah, so we thought we'd check out "what's trending" in Hanukkah songs.
We all know and love Adam Sandler's 3 Hanukkah songs, but if he's the king of Hanukkah music, here are a few of the many prince and princesses.
First, there is Michelle Citrin with "Hanukkah Lovin."
Next, The Hanukkah Mensch presents a Jewish-spin on "The 12 Days of Christmas" with their "8 Nights of Hanukkah."
But we couldn't leave out the very best in Jewish a cappella. They are the orthodox group The Maccabeats. They have done a fun take on Taio Cruz's "Dynamite" except their version is called "Candlelight."
They also did a cover of Matisyahu's song "Miracle" which has more YouTube views than the original song.
In 2012, the band released a brand new Hanukkah song, and it’s their first original. The song is called “Shine."
The Maccabeats say their Jewish pride is the secret to their success.
“We don't hide who we are. We wear our Kippot on our head, we wear our Judaism on our sleeves, and I think that appeals to a very broad audience,” said one of the band members.
And that's what's trending in Hanukkah music.
