Headlines from our Thursday’s Futurist begin with news from the engineering department at Volvo. They now have a pedestrian airbag!
Researchers realized the worst injuries from getting hit by cars came from the hard structure under the windshield and its lower edges, so they lashed up their new V40 with sensors. When the car feels a leg hit the bumper, the pedestrian airbag inflates.
Next on the list is a different way of seeing things. Pivothead Video Recording Eyewear now has eyeglasses with a built in camera, so you can take photos and video of everything as you see it, and share it with the world.
Finally, we’ve found drones! Drones in the past had mostly military applications, but recently, they've been reworked to shoot incredible sports and adventure footage, such as the Dedicam drone.
The Dedicam is priced between $1,000 and $40,000.
That's it for the Futurist. See you in the future!
