Here’s what is making The Futurist for October 15:
CUTE BIKE: Lit Motors C-1 might look adorable, but it is a fully-enclosed two-passenger electric motorcycle. The most amazing part is it that has a gyroscopic stabilizing system so it stays upright when stopped or T-boned. Plans call for an initial run available in late 2013, for about $24,000.
TELEROBOTIC SUBMARINE: Take the plunge with the OpenROV. This is a low-cost telerobotic submarine that streams video from underwater and you control it from the surface. Allegedly, it can be built with mostly off-the-shelf parts. The goal of sponsor Mission Aquarius and creator Eric Stackpole is to take the elitism out of exploring the unexplored parts of the ocean. 2019: At the Wharton Business Technology Conference, Microsoft Office Labs unveiled a production called "2019.″ Not sure if this is all stuff in production or just someone daydreaming, but it looks pretty amazing where people will read the newspaper and drink coffee differently.
