Best Weekend Ever: True heroes, Christmas cheer and ugly sweaters

True heroes, Christmas cheer and ugly sweaters are all on your best weekend ever.

HAWAII:  In Hawaii this weekend, thousands will commemorate our brave warriors past and present at the annual observance of the 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor. This is the 71st anniversary of the attack and at the commemoration you can learn stirring details about the event that triggered America's entry into World War II.

SAN DIEGO: This weekend, the green and red skyline of San Diego kicks off one of the nation's premier holiday festivals. More than 300,000 merrymakers will help spread Chrsitmas cheer with Kris Kringle and all his reindeer. The free extravaganza has everything from food and shopping to music, dancing, and singing.

MEMPHIS, ATLANTA & DENVER: Finally, take a deep dive into that closet for your ugliest Christmas sweater. You know you've got one socked away behind that broken 8-track player.

From Atlanta to Memphis and Denver, tens of thousands will lace up for the Annual Ugly Sweater Run. The only requirement for the 3-mile "sort-of-run" is you have to wear your nastiest Christmas duds and bring a gift for "Toys for Tots."   At the finish line, you can enjoy some Sam Adams Winter Lager or sip some hot chocolate while listening to awesome 80s music -- all in a hideous cardigan that you've soaked through with sweat.

There’s no such thing as December doldrums on the best weekend ever!
