It’s the weekend before Halloween. You might be heading to parties, but if you’ve got time, you may want to squeeze in some thrills in the dark. 

Below are four movies coming in theaters on Friday.

CHASING MAVERICKS: It doesn't get much bigger than this. Gerard Butler trains a young man to face his fear and surf the giant mavericks surf break in "Chasing Mavericks."

FUN SIZE: Fun size is a new comedy with a valuable lesson which is: when you babysit, don't lose the kid.

SILENT HILL: The scary "Silent Hill: Revelation in 3D" creeps into theaters just in time for Halloween. It's based on a video game, and after watching it, you'll be glad it's not based on a true story.

CLOUD ATLAS: This weekend is also the launch of sci-fi drama "Cloud Atlas" from Matrix-makers the Wachowski brothers.  This movie has been creating all kinds of buzz with an all-star cast in a story that takes on the mystery of life -- after life.
