MUNICH:  Gas up that passport and head to Munich, Germany for the mother of all Oktoberfests. There you get a big bavarian blowout of fun and tastebud-busting German cuisine. Make sure you pack your green felt hat, dancing shoes, and silly shorts.       

AUSTIN OR VEGAS: If you're more into burning calories than packing them on, it's your choice of either Austin or Las Vegas for Tough Mudder.  Tough Mudder is a hardcore 10 to12 mile obstacle course designed by British Special Forces and run by thousands every year all over the world. It's about fun, camaraderie, strength, stamina, blood, sweat and tears.  

Tough Mudder benefits a charity called Wounded Warrior Project, and these folks give their all as they take on high walls, narrow tunnels, live wires, greased slides and icy water in events with names like Razor's Edge, Trench Warfare, Devil's Beard and Electroshock Therapy.  If it sounds like too much, join the thousands who turn out just to cheer them on.    

SAN FRANCISCO: San Francisco will be bursting at the seams this weekend.  Hundreds of thousands will flock to the city for Fleet Week, where our nation's military will be honored with Blue Angel flyovers and public tours of Navy and Coast Guard ships.

If that's not enough, some of the world's top sailors and yacht designers will be in town for a yacht race that's a run-up to next year's America's cup.
